Hemirena is a terraformed planet, terraformed to sustain life, but scrapped by the unknown creator. Different types of animals were added to this terraformed world.
house gecko. The focus animal on the world.
The only land vertebrates that were added were Asian house geckos, Mediterranean house geckos, common house geckos, and desert rain frogs, common rain frogs, and namaqua rain frogs.
A pair of common rain frogs.
Different types of insects were added to the world, including butterflies, moths, beetles, grasshoppers, crickets, roaches, flies, and bees.
Different types of land invertebrates we call “bugs” were added, such as arachnids, spiders, and mites.
Land crustaceans were also added, such as pillbugs, sowbugs, and crayfish (crayfish can move on land and make burrows).
Small fish were added into the aquatic realm, such as guppies, endlers, mollies, platies, ricefish, devisl hole pupfish, and extinct tecopa and Catarina pupfish. The fate of these extinct animals on this seed world will change, being added into the seed world as a food source for the geckos and rain frogs.
A fancy guppy.
Another type of fish were added, ricefish. A type of fish that lives in the rice paddies of Japan.
Ricefish, a fish that inhabits rice paddies.
Devils hole pupfish, a small blue fish that is going extinct on earth, their fates will change on hemirena.
Mollusks were added, such as freshwater and saltwater snails, sea slugs, land snails, and land slugs.
Worms were added, such as the freshwater planarian (flatworm), marine worms, and earthworms.
Different types of bacteria were added, I won’t go far into what types were added.
Different types of plants were added, including most houseplants in the plant hobby, including philodendrons, pothos, ferns, succulents, cacti, and other tropical plants.
Tropical and temperate shrubs were added, including the calamansi, a type of hybrid orange/lemon, boxwoods, and other small shrubs.
Trees were added, such as oak, pine, maple, and palm trees.
Algae was added, such as macroalgae, freshwater algae, and saltwater algae.
Grasses were added, such as rice, Bermuda grass, phragmites, and many other types of grass, and grass like plants.
Aquatic freshwater crustaceans were added, including crayfish, saltwater shrimp, neocardina and cardina shrimp, copepods, amphipods, seed shrimp (ostracods), and many more.
Aquatic plants were added, such as hornwort, hydrilla, elodea, duckweed, Salvinia, red root floaters, and many others.
Other invertebrates we’re added, such as jellyfish, coral, and sponges.
Kelp, seaweed, and other marine aquatic plants were also added.
Phytoplankton and zooplankton were added too. And many extinct invertebrates were added, including ammonites, exogyran oysters, and many extinct corals, and other extinct invertebrates.
The sea had a little lower salt level than earths oceans, but the right amount for guppies, and other marine organisms. The world of hemirena was mostly tropical, subtropical, and temperate, with small pockets of inland desert, and little to no ice cap. Areas close or near the ocean were mostly Swamps, rainforest, bogs, or forest in more northern and southern areas closer to the pole.
The sea was flowing with lots of nutrients, and there was lots of food for mostly all animals added, meaning, the seeded animals can grow faster and evolve faster. Adaptive radiation would shape these animals into many different forms.
Let’s start our journey at the aquacene 0-10 MY PE.
