Coming across this wiki, I already had sizable content of speculative evolution sketches and writings. There is a large problem, however, I noticed that my evolutions seem way-out there.
Here is a written example of what I have run into:
On an art site there was a Speculative zoology group that focused on choosing specific species and then making drawings of these species choosing niches by existing animals. The group allowed the drawings to be zoologically inaccurate. So I chose one of existing bear species and tried to evolve them into something fitting for crustacean niches.
The resulting forefather species and it's descendant species happened to get traits such as:
- Koala like nose with two openings on each side
- Outer specialized lung/gill resembling leaf
- Tortoise shaped armor grows on some parts on it's body.
- Hind feet capable of bending outward and backward.
- At least three patches of differently shaped fur.
Seeing as lot of the species here look much similar to their ancestors, I now wish to know what to do. Should I look elsewhere to put content like this or should I do a compromise variant where I provide gradual development into forms as mine? The evolution involved here is supposed to take humongous amounts of time since the speculative evolution took place on an another planet but using Earth species.
