Kioanna is a hypothetical large island that exists within the northern Pacific. Nicknamed "New Zealand of the Arctic" due to it's proximity to the Arctic which in many ways contrasts the island of New Zealand which is relatively close to Antarctica.
Kioanna is known for it's diverse amount of avian fauna. Most of these species originated in East Asia or the Americas and subsequently migrated to Kioanna in the span of millions of years. Kioanna also boasts a large diversity of pinniped species such as the Central Pacific Sea Lion that is thought to share common ancestry with the California and Japanese Sea Lions.
